Greetings again and we hope that everyone had a good holiday season.

URN took a great deal of time off from all music activities up to the New Year, but has been back in high gear since. As many of you are aware, we are still holding drummer auditions and we’ve had some great prospects come in and we are very optimistic about what the future will bring.

We hope that you are enjoying the facelift and upgrade to urncentral.com (now, that we’ve actually had some time to stop and address updating the site). More renovations and updates are being worked on as we speak, so please check back often as the site will be in a constant state of evolution for the next couple of months. Please also feel free to leave any feedback as that will also help us.

URN DRUMMER AUDITIONS

For the record, we still have a few more drummer candidates coming in, so if you are a drummer, or you know someone who would be interested, we are still holding auditions through the end of February in where we will make our decision and announce our newest member.

For more detailed information on this process: URN is scheduled to record a new full length album, video shoot, and we are in talks with promoters on potential European and North American tours to support the new album in 2008 and 2009. As a result, we are seeking serious applicants only.
We also ask that no session drummers apply please, as we do ask for a strong commitment. Applicants must have their own professional gear, reliable transportation, valid passport, and flexible schedule as the band does do extensive touring with major acts. To inquire for an audition please email urn@urncentral.com or you can also contact through the myspace page.

SO WHY/HOW DO YOU HAVE A COUPLE OF SHOWS COMING UP THEN?

URN is a very blessed band as we have a great many friends in the world and it means everything to us. In short, our good friend Brain “Mr. Dark and Spooky” had asked us quite a while back to be a part of his birthday celebration on February 1st at Station 4 in St. Paul, MN and URN would never turn down any opportunity to play with the legendary IMPALER!!! Fortunately for us, Scott Davidson of Rebel Radio whom has been a great friend to the band is sitting in as a celebrity “guest drummer” if you will. This being fresh of his birthday bash with Trouble, Kataklysm and many other great bands at the Chicago House of Blues on Sunday, January 27th!!

URN does have a few more shows also confirmed for 2008 and we’ll announce them once the drummer is announced and in place.

DEVELOPMENT OF “SCRIBINGS OF A FORGOTTEN SOUL” AND THE VAMPIRE DON HENRIE ALBUMS

As previously mentioned, URN has spent a good amount of time developing the upcoming release predicted for 2008. At the current moment, the band is working/developing over twenty new songs for both projects. The direction for this new album will be of a much darker, heavier vein as the band is exploring new artistic approaches in the songwriting. Certain trademark elements will still be intact as Sophia will continue to perform various woodwind instruments on the records as we try to blend various musical influences into a cohesive whole. A couple of good friends have also indicated to doing some guest vocals on the album and those are being worked out at this time as well. More news will made of this as the time approaches.

The Don Henrie album is also coming together very, very well as it will be an estimated six-song release with Don providing lead vocals. There are plans for live performances for this project as well and again more news will be made of that as definitive plans become more concrete in the coming months.
Thank you all so much for your continued support and we are excited and look forward to bringing you new music in 2008 and beyond!
Cheers!

Hello everyone and we hope that all is well in your world!

Things have been very hectic and busy in the URN camp theses (when are we not), but there’s a great deal going and coming up so we wanted to share with, so we’ll keep on the brief side this month.

First and foremost, URN would like to deeply thank Bill Hamning again for filling in on drums for the past couple months as well as the next couple to help us fulfill our schedule. Look for Bill to show more of his talents later on in the winter with Avernus and Empyrean Sky.

A couple of weeks ago URN had the honor to participate in the Girls of Metal Cancer Benefit at the Colosseum in Mokena, IL. It was very humbling to see so many people come out and support the worth cause with such enthusiasm as well. The show was quite the success and special thanks to Nicci, Missy, Holly, Danyelle and all of the Girls of metal for putting on the event and putting the effort in to support the American Brian Tumor Research Foundation.

As mentioned, a dear loved one of URN suffers from a brain tumor, so it meant beyond words for people to come and give to this charity as we pray each day that better treatments are found and a possible cure.

Special thanks also go out to Frank of FM Entertainment at the Pearl Room and the staff for hosting the event and having show. It was also real cool to see many others from so many area metal bands coming out to catch and really enjoy our performance. It means a lot to us and kudos to the other great bands, The Ottoman Empire, F.H.O.D and Beyond Tranquility for putting on fantastic shows to make the event a very special day.

UPCOMING SHOWS

Well, most of you have know this for seven months, however if you are new to URN and who we are, we’ll mention again that URN is honored to be doing a couple of Midwest dates with FINNTROLL next week.

URN will be the direct support act at the I-Rock in Detroit, MI on Thursday, September 27th and will be a support act on Friday, September 28th at the Pearl Room the next day, Friday, September 28th. The band has nine songs near full completion with several more compositions being developed.

The band is proud to announce that the title for the new album will be called “Scribings of a Forgotten Soul” and will go into pre-production in February 2008 with a hopeful fall release later in that year. Stay tuned for more announcements and details as we things progress.

As always, the band would thank all of you for your support. Record sales for “Dancing with the Demigods” both in the stores and online have well exceeded expectations and continue to thrice, we wish there were more words to say thanks.

Hope to see you all out at the shows and be well!
